Indian practice (CIE) recommends 30 to 75 lux maintained on the task plane with uniformity of at least 0.25. New installations should target 20–30% above the maintained value to allow for lamp depreciation and dirt.
What mounting height is typical for building exterior / security?
Around 6 m is typical. Higher mounting needs more lumens per fixture or closer spacing to keep uniformity.
